Are your cake toppers edible?

Yes, they are! Our cake toppers are printed onto your choice of icing paper or wafer card with edible inks, so they’re perfectly safe to eat.

What size are your cake toppers?

Our cake toppers come in a variety of different sizes and shapes to suit you!

from the smallest sheet size of a5 to largest sheet size a3..

each topper is printed to an edible sheet of your size and will require cutting out..

can you print right to the edges of a sheet?

each sheet size has a maximum print area (eg A4 Sheet, max printable area would be 8inch x 10inch)

unfortunlety our printers outside the print areas, but you can always trim the edges away :)

 

What’s the difference between icing toppers and wafer toppers? 

We print with edible inks onto two different types of edible paper.

Here’s some of the differences between wafer card and icing paper to help you work out which is best for your bakes:

Wafer toppers

• Our wafer toppers are made from extra thick, lightly sweetened rice paper.

• Wafer toppers are easy to cut and apply, simply trim them down and apply them straight to butter cream or add them to rolled icing first for a fancy finish!

• Wafer toppers work best with buttercream.

• Wafer paper doesn’t like humidity. If it’s too humid in your kitchen, or if your hands are wet, they tend to lose their stiffness and the edges can curl.

•  it’s always best to apply wafer toppers to cakes just before serving so they look their best.

Icing toppers

• Our icing toppers are essentially a really thin layer of thin icing – perfect for lying flat on an iced cake.

• Icing toppers are printed to a4 sheets and will require cutting out.. 

• peel them from their backing sheet and they’re ready to go.

• Prints appear sharper and more vibrant on icing toppers, but they can run or smudge if the topper gets wet.

• It’s important to only use a very small amount water or edible glue to adhere  and always work with clean, dry hands.

• Icing toppers are a slightly creamier shade of white.

• Icing will tear if it’s too sticky or wet, so it’s best to work in a cool environment with dry hands.

 

Do I have to cut cake toppers out?

yes all toppers will be printed to a5,a4 or a3 sheets and will require cutting to suit you before peeling.

Where do you ship from and how long will it take to receive my toppers?

We ship from the UK, with free 1st class delivery included in the price.

Royal Mail state that 90% of first class orders arrive next working day, but it can take up to 3 working days in busy periods

so please bear this in mind when ordering, if its urgently needed and you cant wait, your best paying for next day guaranteed delivery for peace of mind.

We offer guaranteed next working day services and a Saturday guaranteed service - both cost extra.

Please note that both of these services require a signature on delivery.

we can only post the same day if orders are received before 12:30 with successful  receipt of your images and order details before this time ...with no arising problems with your photos and or instructions.

Do you have any tips to make sure my personalised cake toppers look better?

​

• We recommend you choose a high-resolution image with a light-coloured background. Low-resolution images, or images with dark backgrounds, can affect the print quality.

• We print images on best quality settings so if you’re scanning your image, we recommend this scanning through at high quality... the larger the image you upload, the better the quality of the print will be.

• If you do upload a photo that has a low resolution or image size, we’ll still accept it. However, the image may not be of a very high quality when printed. 

• If you’re uploading a photo from your computer, images can be in JPEG or PNG format.

• our smallest cupcake toppers are 4cm and perfect for single or couple of faces.. not ideal for large group photos, as you can imagine all the detail would appear too small for the print really.

 

What’s the print quality like?

our feedback tells us our toppers are preferred choice for high quality icing..

Remember, we’re printing onto EDIBLE icing and wafer paper so the image quality and colorings won’t be as good as a photo… but you can’t eat a real photo!

 

Will the colours change when you print my photo onto the icing or wafer paper?

most colorings will appear near true..

as we use edible inks, there may occasionally be small variations in colour to the image on your screen, just like if you print a photo at home.

please bear in mind cerise pink colour will print more reddish sorry!

 

What ingredients are used?

Our cake toppers are suitable for vegetarians and vegans.

unfortunately we are a bakery and NUTS are used on a regular basis so we cannot accept such allergies (but were working on it!)

 

How long do cake toppers last for?

Our cake toppers are best used within 2 months at the time of dispatch, but generally they can be kept for up to 6 months. . our toppers come in a grip seal bag, which can be used to seal them and keep them fresh until ready to use.
